The Angel of Destruction
To God be the glory.
For the past two days, I have felt led by the Lord to meditate on Luke 4:18-19. It was part of the Gospel reading for the first Sunday of Lent. Jesus is quoting from Isaiah 61. Lent is supposed to be 40 days of intimacy with the Father. I felt that He had something to share with me in particular about it. I have been called to preach since I was very young. Once, on a mission trip, I had an angel sit with me and tell me I was supposed to go around the world telling people about God's love. Together, Lee Anne and I have done exactly this; this prophecy is still coming to pass.
Yesterday, when I read the Scripture I noticed that 3 times the verse mentions preaching, and 3 times in mentions healing and/or deliverance. This is the ministry of Jesus. (Luke 4: 21)
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Wherefore he hath anointed me to preach (1) the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal (1) the contrite of heart, to preach (2) deliverance (2) to the captives, and sight to the blind, to set at liberty (3) them that are bruised, to preach (3) the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of reward."
Notice how preaching comes first and last, while healing comes once, deliverance twice, and these three are in the centre.
As we did our Scripture time today, we read the Church's daily readings but I was led back into Luke 4:18-19. As I sat quietly, it was quickened to me that this is the ministry of Jesus, through the ministry of Lee Anne and I together. Before I met Lee Anne, I had already been called to preach (first time, at 5 years old). I had already been preaching through my music ministry and speaking engagements, etc., as a lay missionary mostly from the time I was 15. Just before I met Lee Anne, I went to a conference in Ohio, where an anointed evangelist told me, "the Lord is giving you a ministry of healing and deliverance marked by joy." At the time, I thought, wow! that's what I'm called to do, the Lord is giving me a powerful ministry like Jesus'.
Yet, it wasn't until I met Lee Anne some a few months later that I started getting trained in the healing and deliverance ministry. I had prayed over people before, and had the gift of healing, but there is a HUGE difference between that, and a healing/deliverance ministry. I saw things, saw people healed through Lee Anne's ministry I had never even heard of before. She has had so many supernatural things happen in her life from the beginning! The hours of her commitment... I remember her witnessing to a man, who had just lost his son, for 10 hours a day for three days, without ever repeating a testimony! He walked away free, and comforted. Most people don't have that much witness in them! But Lee Anne has been through so many things with the Lord, mostly loving and forgiving people after being abused by them, that she is able to teach through this witness and her life of prayer and union with God gives her the power to get them freed up by the Holy Spirit.
What I saw through the Scripture today was, if I had never met Lee Anne, I wouldn't be in the healing and deliverance ministry. I was preaching, fine, but I didn't have the full ministry of Jesus. I feel that the Lord showed me today that together, she and I have the "full package." Praise God!
Some people, like Fr. Fernando Suarez, have the full package in in themselves. He had preaching, healing, and deliverance. But, where preaching and music were my strongest callings, Lee Anne's were in faith and witnessing, healing and deliverance. When we first met, our gifts were instantly complimentary, as if they were made for each other. In fact, they/we were! Some people are called into this union of marriage and/or ministry to manifest the Kingdom of Jesus, where some have it all in one (usually entailing more suffering).
What does this have to do with the Angel of Destruction, the title of this post?
Well, the fact is that each person is called to something different. There is a sense in which we are called to do the ministry of Jesus, but not in the same way. That is to say, each person is totally unique. God says, "he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and other some evangelists, and other some pastors and doctors." (Eph. 4:11) Some people are called to be intercessors, some have the gift of healing but don't have a healing ministry. We are all called to be prophetic, but not everyone is a prophet, etc.
THAT IS WHY it is so important to be careful of misunderstanding, judging, criticizing, slandering other people's callings and their ministries. Lee Anne and I have an unusual, unique calling- one that has been confirmed and promoted by priests and bishops around the world. Yet, because we are unusual, many people have talked against us, misunderstanding our ministry. They never took the time to ask the Lord the truth about us, the full story. Even we are discovering the full story, as it unfolds over time. It is so important to spend time in the secret place with God before making any judgments about people...in fact, we're not supposed to judge people at all! (Matt. 7:1) Our enemies didn't see that our marriage and ministry is a parable of what God is saying to the end-time Church- to not be afraid of the unusual, that the generations are called to unify, that love transcends age, etc.
Therefore, the following post is also very appropriate- because this ministry of preaching, healing and deliverance that Lee Anne and I have been so privileged to receive, and for which we give God all the glory, is truly anointed. Other people have anointed ministries and offices...we are not to talk negatively about them. Jesus said, "whoever is not against you is for you." (Luke 9:50) This also applies to Pope Francis: many people disagree with his words and actions, but he is still anointed as the Pope of God's Church- David refused to harm Saul for this reason.
People don't realize that they could be sick or suffering because they spoke against one of God's servants. I remember one time, a lady was speaking against Lee Anne and I at a job I used to have- she fell down the stairs and broke her jaw! From an article posted Jan. 23, 2019: (Note: we just last week started noticing the youth are dressing like goth again.)
"The Angel of Destruction" Recently, I received in prayer about the Angel of Destruction. I saw in the Spirit an image of what looked like a girl with black hair, kind of jagged-like, with the word DESTRUCTION written over her. At first, I thought it was someone we know, but felt the Lord say, no, it is the Angel of Destruction. I felt He led me into a teaching about this- the Angel of Destruction is, in fact, a demon, and was one of Lucifer’s highest angels in heaven. Together with Lucifer, this angel and the rest of the soon-to-be-demons talked against the plans of God to send His Anointed One, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, who would take on human flesh. These angels thought that human beings, who were created after them, should serve them, the higher beings. God had it so that angels would actually serve human beings (as Christ would dwell within the believers, cf Hebrews 1). As I was wondering if any of this was biblical, I felt the Lord showed me that when anyone in the Bible speaks against the Lord’s anointed servants the prophets, usually the Angel of Destruction is allowed to attack, and destroy them. Pharaoh talked against Moses, the anointed of God, and resisted the plan of the Holy Spirit. He got ten plagues and yes, the Angel of Death, the Angel of Destruction even took the life of his son. Truly, an angel of God would not kill and destroy in this manner- but God could allow the activity of a fallen angel, a demon, if the person has lost his or her protection. It is part of the sin against the Holy Spirit to talk against the Lord’s anointed servants! When the Philistines spoke against Samson, eventually God allowed most of them to be killed in Samson’s last act. When the Pharisees and Sadducees called Jesus a servant of Satan in Matthew 9:34, later their beloved Temple, even their entire city was destroyed! As Jesus said, “one stone will not be left upon another.” (Matthew 24:2) The Pharisees and Sadducees aren’t around to tell the tale today! It’s not that God wants to destroy- that is what Satan came to do. Christ came that we might have life! (both John 10:10) However, if we speak or act against one of God’s people, by our own free will we place ourselves outside of God’s protection, which can only be gained again by repentance and grace! Interestingly enough, in the last part of the vision I saw the Lord show me about the Goth movement in the 90’s. While rock’n’roll was not innocent in its origins in the 50’s, it was not totally satanic. The occult and satanism did not enter into the rock music scene until many artists began to sing and speak (and act, of course) against God and His Church. Bono of U2, a professed Christian, was quoted in an interview as saying that there was a time in rock’n’roll history where you weren’t cool if you weren’t singing about Satan. All of our actions, whether good or evil, can open up a “portal” for either God and His angels, or Satan and his, to act. When music artists began speaking and singing against God, a portal was opened for the Angel of Destruction to take the youth, which manifested in a big way in the 90’s Goth movement. Strangely enough, when I saw the demon, it looked like a girl caught up in goth. We recall from the Scriptures that when King Solomon turned to the occult, his ministry and heritage was attacked by the Angel of Destruction. God “sent” an angel from hell to torment Saul (1 Samuel 16:14) when he disobeyed the prophet Samuel, and tried to kill the anointed king, David, who himself said he would never touch the Lord’s anointed. (1 Samuel 24:7) When we follow the Lord and His ways, and “love one another” (John 13:34) as He loves us, we are protected. But, if we speak against others and their ministries, you better watch out. (Psalm 105:15) “Touch not the Lord’s anointed.” Look what happened to those who came against Elijah! (1 Kings 18:40) There are people who quenched the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19) by attacking (by gossip, slandering, etc.) or hindering Spirit-filled ministries. God have mercy on those people! Lord, preserve us from the Angel of Destruction by teaching us to love and honour all people, especially God’s anointed servants! Remove the gossip, slander and resistance to the movement of the Holy Spirit from Your Church! In the Father’s Love, Daniel Devine III, M. Div Heart Two Heart Ministries, Inc. +++
